Chemical Etching (sometimes called Chem-Etch, Chemical Milling, or industrial etching) is a subtractive milling process. This in-house process uses chemicals to remove metal to create the desired shape and details within the part. The metal is put into a bath with a corrosive chemicals that react with the metal in the area that needs to be cut, which dissolves the metal in those specific areas.
TMP maintains a large inventory of metals in a variety of thicknesses, making chem-etch a quick-turn, cost effective solution for a wide range of designs and applications. Chem-etching can be combined with electroforming and laser-cutting to produce highly complicated designs. Because of our complete in-house process capabilities, TMP can satisfy both prototype/small quantities and large volume production needs.
Every day TMP creates custom metal parts in a large variety of sizes and thicknesses to extremely precise tolerances. Call today at (719) 268-8300 for more information.
